Outage knocks out power for 4,800 on South Hill

Nearly 5,000 people on the South Hill are without power Friday morning.

Avista Utilities’ website shows an outage affecting 4,885 people covering much of the South Hill, from Sherman Street to about Altamont Street and Interstate 90 to about East 33rd Avenue.

The outage started around 8:30 a.m., and Avista expects to restore power by 11:30 a.m.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.
