Man arrested after reported SCC threats

Authorities have arrested a man suspected of threatening to kill two people Monday morning on the campus at Spokane Community College.

William P. Ringer, 29, was sought on two warrants of felony harassment/threats to kill, police said. he was arrested in California by Lake County sheriff’s deputies, Spokane police spokesman Cpl. Jordan Ferguson wrote in an email.

Officers responded to the community college at 9:30 a.m. after a report of a threat to attack the campus.

Annie Gannon, the college’s spokeswoman, said the threat was directed at specific students in the culinary program and appeared to be of a domestic nature. The culinary program cancelled classes for the day as a precaution, she said.
