Spokane Symphony: Scottish Fantasies
Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara leads the symphony and its audience on a tour of Scotland, via music from Peter Maxwell Davies, Max Bruch and Felix Mendelssohn. Concertmaster and violinist Mateusz Wolski will be the soloist for Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy.” Part of the Classics series.

“Riverdance”

Bedtime Stories 2015
Kris Dinnison, Sam Ligon, Sharma Shields and Jess Walter will read new short stories inspired by the theme “A Hard Day’s Night” in this annual fundraiser for Humanities Washington. A story Walter first read at Bedtime Stories two years ago, “Mr. Voice,” is featured in the Best American Short Stories 2015, edited by T.C. Boyle.

Comedian Adam Ray
Washington native Adam Ray was a writer for “Punk’d” and has appeared in “Two Broke Girls,” “Workaholics,” “Arrested Development,” and opposite Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in “The Heat.” His stand-up act also was featured in the Comedy Central show “Adam Devine’s House Party” and on funnyordie.com. Opening acts are Kelsey Cook from Los Angeles (and formerly of Cheney) and Steven Tye from Spokane.

A Night of Edgar Allan Poe
Friends of the Bing and the Modern Theater have joined forces to present a one-of-a-kind musical concert, poetry and literature event. Join the Modern Theater’s resident musical director Zachariah Baker, along with several local musicians and artists for a night of original musical compositions celebrating the genius of Edgar Allan Poe. Audiences can expect to see and hear a variety of Poe’s work as well as music and poetry inspired by some of his classic short stories and poems.
