Area football roundup: Cole scores two late TDs as Reardan tops Colfax

Caleb Cole scored two rushing touchdowns late in the fourth quarter to give Reardan a 40-34 comeback-win over Colfax in a Northeast 2B League game Friday in Colfax.

Cole’s 32-yard run with 2:50 left in the fourth tied the game at 34 and his 8-yard with 1:05 left gave the Indians the victory. He finished with 127 yards on 17 carries.

Dustyn Rettkowski added 79 yards on the ground and two touchdowns for Reardan (4-3, 4-3). Keith Gfeller did just about everything for the Bulldogs. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 174 yards on 26 carries and two scores.

Colfax (4-4, 4-3) outgained Readan 474-309, but the Indians won the turnover battle 3-1.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 42, Kettle Falls 8: Mason Brausen ran for 112 yards and a touchdown and the Broncos (8-0, 7-0) topped the host Bulldogs (2-6, 1-6). Jacob Saetre, Peyton Kiel, Damien Rouleau, Andrew Witt and Dane Wahl also scored rushing touchdowns for LRS, which built a 29-0 halftime lead. The Broncos racked up 330 rushing yards on 32 carries. Kettle Falls’ Jared Owens threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Damien Thorsen in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs’ lone score.

Northwest Christian 45, Davenport 27: David Olds threw for two touchdowns and ran for a pair of scores as the Crusaders (6-2, 6-1) topped the host Gorillas (5-3, 4-3). Ethan Perreiah added two rushing scores for Northwest Christian, which outscored Davenport 35-6 in the second and third quarters.

Liberty 36, Wilbur-Creston 17: Tyler Haas ran for 225 yards on 27 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Lancers (5-3, 5-3) past the visiting Wildcats (1-6, 1-6). Garett Rogers added 127 passing yards and two scores for Liberty.

Great Northern

East Valley 27, Pullman 26: Dante Clayton threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Colin Spendlove with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter, giving the Knights (4-4, 2-2) a comeback-win over the visiting Greyhounds (5-3, 0-3). Clayton finished with 223 yards passing and three touchdowns. Pullman quarterback Mason Petrino threw for a score and ran for a score. The Greyhounds had a 19-7 lead early in the third quarter.

Clarkston 52, Cheney 25: A.J. Davis threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns as the Bantams (6-2, 2-1) topped the host Blackhawks (7-1, 2-1). Hanson Hunter finished with six receptions for 107 yards and two scores for Clarkston. Dylan Beeler and Trevor Allen also caught touchdown passes.

Intermountain

Timberlake 47, Bonners Ferry 10: Brandon Housladen ran for 198 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries and Ethan Bruce added 154 rushing yards and two scores as the Tigers (6-2, 3-0) dumped the host Badgers (4-4, 2-1). Housladen also threw for 181 yards and a touchdown pass to Gage Wells. Wells finished with 124 receiving yards and also scored on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.

Northeast A

Lakeside 33, Freeman 14: Cameron Gay threw two third-quarter touchdown passes and the Eagles (7-1, 6-0) leaned on its defense in a win over the host Scotties (5-3, 4-2). Lakeside scored 19 unanswered points in the third quarter and held Freeman scoreless after halftime. Scotties’ quarterback J.T. Neely threw two touchdown passes, including a 35-yard strike to Harrison McGill in the first quarter.

Colville 42, Deer Park 7: William Burton ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns and Jack Heinds added three rushing scores as the Indians (7-1, 6-0) dumped the visiting Stags (4-4, 4-2). Deer Park’s lone score came on Tyson Lim’s 85-yard kickoff return in the second quarter.

Medical Lake 41, Riverside 19: Dawson Lack ran for three touchdowns to lead the Cardinals (1-7, 1-5) past the host Rams (1-7, 1-5). His 37-yard run opened the scoring in the first quarter. Riverside quarterback John Bogetti ran for a score and threw for another.

Newport 24, Chewelah 12: Jesse Reyes ran for 158 yards on 31 carries and scored a touchdown to guide the Grizzlies (4-4, 2-4) past the host Cougars (1-7, 0-6). Newport scored 17 points in the third quarter and held Chewelah scoress after halftime.

Northeast 1B North

Cusick 56, Inchelium 14: Tyson Shanholtzer ran for 208 yards and four touchdowns and the Panthers (6-2, 4-0) topped the visiting Hornets (2-5, 1-3). Tanner Shanholtzer added three passing scores for Cusick and Wyatt Shanholtzer hauled in a 43-yard touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 70 yards for another score.

Republic 52, Selkirk 14: Aaron Fritz threw three touchdown passes to guide the Tigers (6-1, 4-0) past the host Rangers (6-2, 2-2). Selkirk’s Joey Dickinson had a 60-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Southeast 1B

Liberty Christian 84, Colton 30: John Lesser ran for five touchdowns and threw for four more as the top-ranked Patriots (8-0, 4-0) dumped the Wildcats (5-3, 4-2) in Hanford. Colton quarterback Carter Dahmen threw for 314 yards.

Touchet 69, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 0: Isaac Gutierrez ran for 213 yards and Jonathan Orozco added 106 rushing yards as the Indians routed the visiting Eagles (0-8, 0-5). Touchet racked up 532 total rushing yards.

Nonleague

West Valley 41, Eisenhower 21: Hunter Wright threw for four touchdowns and the Eagles (5-3) topped the Cadets in Yakima. West Valley’s Hunter Ferguson added a 33-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a 50-yard kickoff return in the fourth.

Wallace 58, Tekoa-Rosalia 14: Brady McPhail ran for 192 yards and scored four total touchdowns as the Miners (6-1) dumped the visiting Timberwolves (1-4). McPhail scored three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 70, Waterville 14: Dallas Isaac accounted for nine touchdowns in the Warriors’ (7-1) win over the visiting Shockers. Isaac scored four rushing touchdowns, threw for two and returned an interception 65 yards for another score.
