Rogers student jailed on suspicion of making bomb threat

A student has been arrested on suspicion of making a bomb threat Wednesday at Rogers High School.

Racheal A. Perdue, 18, was arrested Thursday after being interviewed by police and school officials. She reportedly admitted making the threat, according to court documents. She said she typed “Bombs will set off, 3 p.m. (tick tock)” on two school computers and left the messages on the screen for others to find, court documents said.

Spokane Public Schools spokesman Kevin Morrison said Perdue is not suspected of making the other two bomb threats at Rogers earlier this month. The method of making the first two threats was different and the investigation is continuing, Morrison said.

Morrison said he hopes this week’s arrest will be a deterrent.

“We are hoping it sends a strong message to the community and students that these kinds of activities will be prosecuted,” he said.
