Fans invited to celebrate ‘Mudgy & Millie’

Fans of the “Mudgy & Millie” children’s book, set in Coeur d’Alene, are invited to a free birthday celebration for the moose and mouse at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library community room, 702 E. Front Ave.

The author, Susan Nipp, will read from her book and sign copies, and Mudgy Moose and Millie Mouse will appear for a singalong. Local sculptor Terry Lee, who created five life-size bronze statues of the book characters along the Mudgy Trail, also will be there.

Birthday cake will be served, compliments of the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Nipp, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Library Foundation board, donates the royalties from the “Mudgy & Millie” book and merchandise sales to the foundation.
