Christian McCaffrey rushed for 115 yards for the Cardinal (2-1, 1-0 Pac-12), who scored just six points in their stunning season-opening loss at Northwestern. They looked more like their usual powerhouse selves during a 474-yard offensive performance at the Coliseum, where they’ve won four times in their last five trips.

Cody Kessler was 25 of 32 for 272 yards and three touchdowns, but USC (2-1, 0-1) couldn’t match the steady production of Hogan, who went 18 for 23 behind his dominant offensive line.

Lockie replaced Vernon Adams, who was resting with a broken index finger on his throwing hand.

Arizona broke the mark for points set in a 74-0 win 94 years ago over UTEP.

(21) Utah 45, Fresno State 24: Devontae Booker ran for 156 yards and two touchdowns, and the Utes (3-0) had two scores on special teams and one on defense in a victory over the Bulldogs (1-2) in Fresno, California.

Utah defensive tackle Stevie Tu’ikolovatu recovered a fumble by Fresno State quarterback Chason Virgil on a sack and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown to put the Utes up 10-3 late in the first quarter.

California 45, Texas 44: Jared Goff passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns and the Golden Bears (3-0) survived a wild game with the Longhorns (1-2) in Austin, Texas, when Texas kicker Nick Rose missed an extra point with 1:11 left to play.

Texas freshman quarterback Jerrod Heard had scored on a 45-yard run to cap a rally that brought Texas back from 21-points down.

Colorado 27, Colorado State 24: Tedric Thompson blocked Wyatt Bryan’s 27-yard field-goal attempt in overtime and Diego Gonzalez atoned for a miss at the end of regulation by hitting a 32-yarder, powering the Buffaloes (2-1) past the Rams (1-2) in Denver.
