Jacob Thorpe’s Week 4 Pac-12 football picks

Washington State may be taking a week off from playing, but there is still plenty of Pac-12 football to watch this weekend.

In fact, it’s a pretty good week to sit back and watch games, since four of the conference’s six ranked teams will be playing each other.

Stanford and Oregon State will get the Week 4 games started on Friday in Corvallis with the rest coming on Saturday.

Picks are for entertainment only.

(21) Stanford at Oregon St., Stanford by 15 1/2: Stanford should definitely remain atop the Pac-12 standings after this one. But can Kevin Hogan be the maestro in consecutive masterpieces? Stanford 31-14

Nichols St. at Colorado, no line: With a win, Colorado can become the country’s least impressive 3-1 team. Colorado 35-7

California at Washington, Cal by 4 1/2: The Huskies have not allowed a passing touchdown. That statement will be true for two more days. UW 31-24

(9) UCLA at (16) Arizona, UCLA by 3: Unless Scooby Wright’s knee holds up in practice, the two best linebackers in the conference will be on opposite sides of the field, watching their teams compete without them. UCLA 34-27

(18) Utah at (13) Oregon, Oregon by 11: Reports out of Salt Lake City suggest the Utes are spending extra time practicing holding onto the ball during touchdown celebrations. Oregon 45-35

(19) USC at Arizona State, USC by 5 1/2: The fans of whichever team loses this one are going to be very, very upset with the head coach. USC 27-20

Overall record: 26-8.

Against the spread: 14-14
