Root unveils Big Sky football TV games

Four Eastern Washington University football games will be televised by Root Sports, the network and the Big Sky Conference announced Wednesday.

The 10-game Root schedule includes EWU road games at Montana State on Oct. 22 and Portland State on Friday, Nov. 18. The PSU game was recently moved from Saturday (Nov. 19) to the previous evening because of a potential stadium conflict.

The four televised games are the most for EWU in the five-year partnership between Root and the Big Sky.

Eastern’s Hall of Fame Day game versus UC Davis on Oct. 1 will also be televised by Root Sports, as well as Eastern’s annual showdown with Montana on Oct. 29.

Game times for all four games will be announced later.

All 10 Big Sky Conference football games will be produced and televised in high-definition, with many of the games available in both the Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions.

“We are pleased to continue our strong partnership with the Big Sky Conference, and we look forward to another entertaining and exciting football season in 2016,” said Mark Jorgensen, SVP/general manager of Root Sports. “Big Sky football continues to be programming that our viewers desire.”

The conference and Root Sports were nominated for another Sports Emmy last weekend, with the nomination recognizing the 2015 production of Big Sky football.
