Man injures Holy Family Hospital security guard in brawl

A man previously banned from Holy Family Hospital for disruptive behavior got in a brawl with hospital security guards Thursday night as he tried to force his way inside.

The man, identified as 23-year-old Troy Simpson, arrived at the hospital shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday. He wasn’t a patient but had been removed from the hospital several times earlier Thursday and on Wednesday, according to court documents.

The security guards told police that Simpson tried to push his way into the hospital and started fighting when they blocked him. One guard received minor injuries in the brawl, according to court documents.

Simpson was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary. His bond was set at $45,000 during a court appearance Friday.
