Suspect in triple slaying extradited to Montana

Associated Press

BILLINGS – A man suspected of killing his wife, her sister and the sister’s husband in south-central Montana has been returned to the state to face charges.

The Billings Gazette reported that 39-year-old Robert James LeCou was transferred to the Gallatin County jail Wednesday. Jail records say he is being held on $10 million bond on behalf of Carbon County.

LeCou faces three counts of attempted deliberate homicide in the April 5 shooting deaths of 54-year-old Karen Hill-LeCou, 72-year-old Sharon Hill-Lamb and 76-year-old Lloyd Lamb at the Lamb’s residence in Belfry.

The bodies were found on April 7 and LeCou was arrested the next day in Nine Mile Falls, northwest of Spokane.

LeCou told investigators that an intruder must have shot the victims.

Carbon County officials say no court hearings for LeCou are scheduled.
