Clinton email investigation has no deadline, FBI boss says
Fri., April 22, 2016
WASHINGTON – FBI Director James Comey says there’s no timetable for the FBI to complete its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.
Comey told an Aspen Security Forum audience on Thursday that the FBI does not set timetables on any of its investigations. The comments echo assertions that he and Attorney General Loretta Lynch have made in recent months.
He says he’s personally close to this probe, which is looking into whether sensitive information that flowed through Clinton’s email server was mishandled.
He says he appreciates the interest in the investigation and that he’s confident the investigation is being done “competently, honestly and independently.”
Clinton is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.
