Picnic will honor Purple Heart recipients

The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 470 and its auxiliary are hosting a National Purple Heart Recipient Recognition Day picnic on Sunday.

This year’s picnic honors Art B. Carter III, a dual Purple Heart recipient who died this year.

Longhorn Barbecue will be served, and there will be a potluck for side dishes.

The picnic will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Comstock Park. Purple Heart recipients and their families are welcome.
