State Rep. Youngblood named CSG fellow in leadership program
Idaho state Rep. Rick Youngblood, R-Nampa, has been selected for an intensive leadership development program by the Council of State Governments. He’ll be one of 48 leaders from 29 states, from all three branches of government, who participate in the Henry Toll Fellowship program, through which they’ll undergo an “intensive, six-day, five-night intellectual boot camp” in Lexington, Ky., from Aug. 26-31. Participants delve into such topics as leadership personality training, media training, crisis management and adaptive leadership.
Youngblood, a second-term state representative, said, “As a 2015 graduate of the CSG Western Legislative Academy, I discovered by meeting and working with other state legislators and leaders that fellow states have many of the same challenges as Idaho. The opportunity to better understand how other states handled those challenges allows me to think of new approaches and in many cases better ways to address some of these same challenges at home. My hope is to have the same experience through the Toll Fellowship program.”
