Vancouver Canadians blank Spokane Indians 4-0

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Denis Diaz threw six innings of one-hit baseball and the Vancouver Canadians blanked the Spokane Indians 4-0 on Thursday night.
Diaz (1-2) gave up just Darius Day’s one-out double in the sixth innings. Nick Hartman went the final three inning, giving up four hits.
Starter C.D. Pelham (0-4) gave up three runs, four of the Canadians’ five hits and four walks while striking out two.
Vancouver took a 2-0 lead in the third on RBI singles by J.B. Woodman and Joshua Palacios.
The Canadians made it 3-0 in the fifth on a fielder’s choice and added their final run in the eighth with a walk, stolen base, ground out and sacrifice fly.
The rubber game of the three-game series is Friday at 1:05 p.m.
