Wild Waves water park guest dies in apparent drowning

Associated Press

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Authorities said a 33-year-old man has died in an apparent drowning at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way.

Wild Waves officials said in a statement Sunday that lifeguards pulled the man out of one of the activity pools around 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening. Lifeguards and first responder teams began CPR.

South King Fire & Rescue said its crews arrived and performed CPR on the man but were unable to revive him.

Park officials issued a statement saying their “thoughts are with the family in this difficult time.” They also said they’re helping authorities with the investigation.
