A semitruck struck a railroad bridge at about 8 a.m. Thursday, losing its load and blocking northbound lanes of Division Street at Sprague Avenue.

The truck was carrying a large, empty container that exceeded the bridge’s 13-foot-3-inch height limit, police said. Crews used a tow truck to lug it out from under the bridge.

No injuries were reported. Officials from the state Department of Transportation were inspecting the bridge for signs of damage.

Police said the driver likely will be ticketed.
