Boys basketball: Reece Van Lierop scores 17 to help Ferris knock off Wenatchee

Reece Van Lierop led all scorers with 17 points as Ferris (3-2) beat visiting Wenatchee 75-53 in a nonleague game on Saturday.

Van Lierop hit four 3-pointers. Ferris also got 16 points from Michael Ervin and 14 points from Maxwell Thompson and Shamrock Campbell had 13.

Wenatchee was led by Tony Esquival and Matt Springer with 13 points apiece, while Darius Carlson added 12.

Lake City 63, Rogers 55: James Carlson had 16 points to help the visiting Timberwolves (4-0) defeat the Pirates (0-5).

Lake City outscored Rogers 18-7 in the first quarter. Kenny Louis-McGee added 14 points for Lake City.

Maks Babich led Rogers with 16 points and Cole Riblet added 12.

NE 2B

St. George’s 80, Wilbur-Creston 54: Erik Farias scored 19 points with 12 assists and eight rebounds and the Dragons (3-2, 2-1) defeated the visiting Wildcats (1-3, 1-2).

Wilbur-Creston was paced by Layne Smith and Tucker Odegaard with 11 points a piece. Odegaard grabbed nine boards.

Colfax 57, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 34: Jaydon Soncarty scored 14 points and the visiting Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1) defeated the Broncos (2-2, 1-1).

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague was paced by Camden Smith with 10 points. The game was only a 3-point differential at the half but Colfax surged in the second half to win by 23 points.

Springdale 73, Kettle Falls 24: Chandler Carr had 16 points and Tyrone Dorris had 14 to help the visiting Chargers (4-1, 2-1) defeat the Bulldogs (2-3, 0-3).

Springdale forced 24 turnovers and went 15 of 23 from the free throw line. Kettle Falls never made it to the free throw line.

Northwest Christian 67, Davenport 41: Ryan Ricks scored 11 of his 25 points in the second quarter, when the visiting Crusaders (3-0, 3-0) went 10 of 12 from the field, in a win over the Gorillas (1-4, 1-2).

Asher Cox added 18 points for NWC.

NE 1B

Wellpinit 74, Valley Christian 20: Cedric Bowen scored 22 points with nine steals and the Redskins (2-0, 1-0) defeated the visiting Panthers (0-5, 0-3).

Valley Christian was paced by Kevin Min with 7 points. Brandon Flett grabbed 11 rebounds for Wellpinit.

Inchelium 58, Cusick 53: Winston Finley had 22 rebounds and 10 points to lead the Hornets (1-2, 1-1) past the visiting Panthers (1-3, 1-1).

Dylan Hendershott had 14 points to help keep Cusick in the game.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 71, Columbia 31: Payton Nielsen scored 18 points to help the Warriors (3-2, 2-0) defeat the visiting Lions (1-3, 1-1).

ACH started hot, outscoring Columbia 32-9, shooting close to 50 percent from the field.

Mac Isaak had 10 assists for ACH.

Northport 48, Curlew 35: Aiden Middlesworth scored 21 points, Kade Middlesworth added 15 and the visiting Mustangs (4-2, 2-1) topped the Cougars (0-5, 0-4).

Justin Hanks and Liam Chamberlain had 10 points apiece for Curlew.

Northport raced to a 20-11 lead at intermission.

Selkirk 59, Republic 32: Jacob Couch scored to 20 points to lead the visiting Rangers (3-1, 3-0) past the Tigers.

Selkirk opened up a big lead early, hitting five 3-pointers in the first quarter. The Rangers finished 11 of 20 from beyond the arc.

Nonleague

Medical Lake 77, Liberty 56: Trenten Garza scored 20 points and the Cardinals (4-0) defeated the visiting Lancers (0-2).

Liberty was paced by Isaac Ottmar with 21 points. It was a close game at the half but Medical Lake surged in the second half, scoring 49 points to beat Liberty.

Medical Lake registered 42 rebounds with Joey Jasmer recording 13.

Kellogg 48, Deer Park 42: Toby Colburn led the visiting Wildcats (4-0) with 12 points, doing most of his work in the paint, in a win over the Stags (1-2).

Austin Wisinger paced Deer Park with 11 points.

Lakeland 73, Bonners Ferry 53: Kaden Davis scored 18 points and recorded seven rebounds and the Hawks (2-3) defeated the visiting Badgers (2-3).

Bonners Ferry was led by Chris Sabin with 26 points.

Sandpoint 55, Priest River 37: Ryan Roos scored nine points on three 3-pointers to help the Bulldogs (1-3) defeat the visiting Spartans (3-2).

Roos, a freshman, came into the game after Sandpoint’s starting point guard went down with an injury. Robbie Johnson for Sandpoint grabbed 13 rebounds.

Kobe Haggerty led Priest River with 10 points.
