Let Trump run executive branch

Darryl Sargent feels that Donald Trump is not qualified to be president (“Electors should fire Trump,” Dec. 11). Unfortunately for him none of his objections are mentioned in the Constitution as qualifications (the Federalist Papers give some other insight but it is not our Constitution).

I find Trump no more or less qualified than several of our presidents. Eisenhower had no experience as an elected official, for example. Barack Obama had no experience as an executive. Both of these are skills that can be beneficial for a president to have. But my opinion, just like that of Sargent, really is just that, an opinion.

Let’s just all take a deep breath and let the man run the executive branch. He is different than presidents we’ve had in the past. We don’t know if he’ll be better or worse, but he will be different. My desire is for him to be successful in running the executive branch and that our legislators start doing their job of creating (or eliminating law), originating spending bills, approving treaties and making sure that their will is carried out by the executive branch.
