Idaho’s unemployment rate holds steady at 3.8 percent

Idaho’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.8 percent in November – the same rate reported since July.

The state added 1,500 jobs last month, increasing employment to 783,800 workers, according to the Idaho Department of Labor. Many industries added jobs, including natural resources, manufacturing, trade and transportation, government, information and finance.

Kootenai County reported unemployment rates of 4.6 percent in November, compared to 4.5 percent in October and 4.8 percent in November 2015.

November unemployment rates for other North Idaho counties were: Benewah, 6.6 percent; Bonner, 5.4 percent; Boundary, 5.3 percent; and Shoshone, 7.2 percent.
