Area girls: East Valley uses balanced scoring to knock off Sandpoint
Elle Burland scored 16 points, Faith Adams added 15 and East Valley (6-3) held off visiting Sandpoint (4-6) 58-57 in a nonleague game on Thursday.
East Valley got out quickly and led 23-5 after the first quarter. Adams and Genesis Wilkenson had six points apiece in the opening stanza. Wilkenson and Brie Holecek finished with 11 points apiece.
Grace Kirscher led Sandpoint with 21 points and Trinity Golder added 13.
Reardan 61, Odessa-Harrington 47: Jessie Williams scored 18 points to lead the Indians (2-3) to a road victory over the Titans (1-5) in a nonleague matchup.
Lizzy Williams added 11 points while grabbing eight offensive rebounds while Kim Dewey and Maiya Martinez scored 10 points apiece.
McKennah Davison led Odessa-Harrington with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Amber Smith added 10 points with five steals.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 65, Wilbur-Creston 43: Gabi Isaak scored 15 points, 10 in the decisive third quarter, and the visiting Warriors (7-1) downed the Wildcats (4-5) in a nonleague affair.
ACH led 31-23 at halftime and exploded with a 23-9 third quarter to take over. Christa Christopherson scored 11 points and Berlyn Hunt added 10.
Karlee Maioho led Wilbur-Creston with 16 points, while Ireland Corrigan added 11.
Coeur d’Alene 53, Davis (Yakima) 46: Kayla Fagan scored 19 points and the Vikings (4-4) defended their home court against the visiting Pirates (1-6) in a nonleague matchup.
Fagan scored 12 of her points in the first half and was 9 of 10 from the free throw line.
Stella Bueno led Davis with 14 points.
Lake City 42, Mountain View 28: Keara Simpson scored 14 points with 17 rebounds and the Timberwolves (10-1) handled the Mavericks (10-2) in the TimberLion holiday tournament in Boise.
Simpson was just 4 of 13 from the field but went 6 of 6 from the line. Nina Carlson added 13 points with seven boards and three assists for Lake City, which raced out to a 10-0 lead after the first quarter and were never challenged.
Mountain View was led by Taeli Carrillo with 12 points.
