Trump already doing well

After reading “Electors should fire Trump” (Dec. 11 letter), I find myself wondering if the author presented the same argument when America voted for a young black man whose qualifications for office was as a community organizer, whose government experience was at best limited.

Or was he shouting from the rooftops “the people have spoken”? The current presidency has sidestepped any expectations, has circumvented our Constitution, destroyed our economy, converted allies to enemies, attempted to globalize our sovereignty, exposed our country to those who wish to harm us and brought us near war with racial and religious differences.

Our new president-elect is not even in office and yet has saved or made possible over 50,000 full-time, high-wage jobs. Perhaps the author should rethink his position, for what Trump has done thus far is exactly what successful, highly qualified people do in our country.
