The pick: Who will win the Holiday Bowl

Bowl games can be crazy, and nobody knows that better than Mike Leach. He’s won the biggest comeback in bowl game history (2006 Insight Bowl) and lost a game in which his team led by 15 with less than three minutes to play (2013 New Mexico Bowl).

Anything can happen in a postseason game, but do not overthink this one. Washington State would be favored over Minnesota even if the Golden Gophers had not suspended 10 players and voluntarily missed a few practices. This might have been an interesting strength-on-strength matchup, but Minnesota’s solid pass defense took a big hit when it lost key players to the aforementioned suspensions.

The Cougars should win handily. They just have to remember not to let up when they have a lead late in the game.
