3 in the key with Gonzaga guard Silas Melson

Q: Usually there’s a story behind the uniform number that players pick. What’s the story behind number zero?

Silas Melson: My jersey number is zero, 0 for Oregon. There’s a few other people out there like that. It’s a little tradition that we carry so we try to rep the zero for Oregon.

Q: Everybody has a hidden talent. What do you have to offer?

SM: If that includes beating people in (NBA) 2K, that’s probably my talent.

Q: Are you No. 1 on the team in video-gaming?

SM: Easy, I’ve probably lost maybe three times this year in 2K.

Q: A close second?

SM: I have to go with Zach Collins. He’s close.

Q: You guys eat a lot of meals together on the road, in here at the McCarthey Athletic Center. Who is always going through the line a second time at the buffet?

SM: I’m going to go with Hachimura, easy, Rui. He’s from Japan so I don’t know if he’s used to eating a lot of food but when we go he eats at least two plates every meal. And he’ll still be hungry for dessert after that.
