Area men’s roundup: Kenny Love leads Whitworth over Buena Vista at tournament

Kenny Love led all five starters in double figures with 20 points and Whitworth (9-1) topped Buena Vista (Iowa) (6-5) 90-80 at the Whitman Tournament in Walla Walla.

Love was 5 of 6 from the field, 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and 7 of 7 from the line, while grabbing seven rebounds with five assists and two steals. Christan Jurlina and Derek Isaak had 15 points apiece, Drew Sears scored 14 points and Kyle Roach added 11.

Thomas Wisecup paced Buena Vista with 17 points.

North Idaho 112, Elite Prep 81: Niko Bevins scored 36 points to lead the Cardinals (12-1) past Elite Prep at the Coeur d’Alene Inn-Vitational.

Bevins finished 12 of 17 from the field, including 11 of 15 from beyond the arc. Sam Dowd had 22 points and Markus Golder added 20 for NIC.

CC Spokane 94, Portland CC 80: Levi Taylor scored 20 points to lead six in double figures and the visiting Sasquatch (11-2) beat the Panthers (3-7).

Taylor was 3 of 9 from beyond the arc and 7 of 8 from the line. Orin Porter and Garrett Hull had 14 points apiece, Cesar Sandoval scored 13 points, Cameron Gay added 12 and George Pilimai had 11 points with 10 rebounds.

Alonzo Parnell paced Portland with 16 points.
