Police captain back on duty after investigation into furniture move

Spokane Police Capt. Brad Arleth is no longer on paid administrative leave, a police spokeswoman confirmed Thursday evening.

Arleth, the department’s downtown precinct captain, was placed on paid administrative leave on Jan. 4 after a city administrator filed a complaint stating that he was insubordinate when he moved furniture from the old precinct to the new precinct location without authorization.

“Brad has been reinstated to full duty,” said department spokeswoman Officer Teresa Fuller.

Fuller said she did not know the status of the internal investigation into the complaint and whether there was any disciplinary action taken. Interim Police Chief Rick Dobrow could not be reached for comment Thursday evening. Fuller said Dobrow may release additional information Friday.
