No. 2 South Carolina sells out for first time

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 2 South Carolina will have a packed house when the Gamecocks host No. 1 Connecticut on Monday night, the program’s first sellout at 18,000-seat Colonial Life Arena.

The school’s ticket office announced the sellout on Friday.

The contest features a matchup of the last undefeated Division I programs with three-time defending NCAA champion Connecticut coming in at 21-0 and the Gamecocks at 22-0. The Huskies play East Carolina on Saturday.

South Carolina leads the country in attendance this season with an average of 14,557 fans through 11 home games. Seven of the top 10 most-attended women’s basketball games this season have come at South Carolina.

The Gamecocks ran their best-in-the-nation home win streak to 45 games with a 78-68 win over No. 18 Kentucky Thursday night.
