Air Jordans stolen in alleged assault at Spokane park

A boy playing basketball in a Spokane park was attacked Saturday and his youth size 7 Nike Air Jordan shoes stolen by a group of teenagers, court documents allege.

The victim was playing basketball late Saturday morning at Chief Garry Park when he was approached by another juvenile, according to court documents. That juvenile allegedly punched the victim in the face and returned with a group, one of whom was carrying a sledgehammer.

The victim told police that the juvenile male holding the sledgehammer said he was “going to kill them all.”

The victim told police he was attacked by multiple people, including Tyler M. Packwood, 19. According to court documents Packwood filmed the assault and attempted to fight the victim. Packwood was arrested and transported to Spokane County Jail. Two juvenile defendants also were arrested and taken to juvenile detention.

One of the defendants alleged that the victim started fight.

The victim’s shoes were stolen during the attack. According to court documents the victim was wearing Nike Air Jordan’s which cost $85.
