Whitworth elevates Bryan Olson to head coach of women’s soccer

Whitworth men’s soccer assistant Bryan Olson will take over the women’s program, athletic director Tim Demant said Monday.

Olson will replace Jael Hagerott, who stepped down as women’s soccer coach in November after five seasons.

Olson has been the top assistant coach for the Whitworth men’s soccer team since 2010. Over that time the Pirate men’s team is 66-17-12.

Olson played for Whitworth from 2006 to 2009. He was a four-year starter on the defensive back line and earned First Team All-Northwest Conference as a senior.

Last year, Whitworth 6-11-3 overall and 4-9-3 in NWC.
