GREELEY, Colo. – Chad Sherwood hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give Idaho the lead with 3 minutes, 8 seconds left, and Perrion Callandret converted 11 of 12 from the free-throw line in the final 1:43 as the Vandals held off Northern Colorado 75-70 on Saturday.
Jamal Evans hit two 3-pointers in the final minute and Anthony Johnson added a third, but Northern Colorado got no closer than four points.
Sherwood, who knocked down 6 of 8 from beyond the arc, and Callandret, who finished 13 of 14 from the line, each scored 18 points to lead Idaho (10-5, 2-0 Big Sky). Victor Sanders and Chris Sarbaugh each contributed 11 points.
Idaho hit 10 of 22 on 3-pointers and converted 23 of 27 from the line.
Evans finished with 24 points to lead the Bears (4-10, 1-1). Dallas Anglin and Anthony Johnson added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
