Bullpups use balanced attack to knock off Highlanders

Using contributions from many, the Gonzaga Prep boys basketball team had no difficulty pulling away from the visiting Shadle Park Highlanders 59-37 in Greater Spokane League play Tuesday.

Logan Adams and Kea Vargas led a balanced attack with 10 points apiece for the Bullpups (9-1 overall, 7-1 league). Anton Watson had eight rebounds and five assists.

G-Prep led 29-13 at halftime.

Tanner Groves led Shadle (7-3, 6-2) with 14 points and Jakobe Ford added 10.

Lewis and Clark 65, Mead 56: The Tigers (8-2, 7-1) never trailed in turning away the visiting Panthers (7-4, 4-4). Cameron Duncan led LC with 17 points, Isaiah Hernandez had 14 and Dominick Oliveri added 13 to go with nine rebounds. Kobie Hanson led the Panthers with 21 points and Dedrick Pakootas scored 12.

Central Valley 55, Mt. Spokane 30: Ryan Rehkow had 14 points, Cameron Tucker added 13 as the visiting Bears (8-2, 6-2) turned back the Wildcats (2-9, 1-7). CV led 27-14 at halftime. Sam Stiles led the Wildcats with 12 points.

Ferris 59, Rogers 43: Jace Van Lierop and Shamrock Campbell combined for the Saxons’ 23 points in the fourth quarter as Ferris (5-5, 4-4) broke open a close game against the visiting Pirates (1-9, 1-7). Van Lierop led with 23 points, Campbell had 20 and Mike Ervin added 10 and 10 rebounds. Denzel Brantley led Rogers with 12 points and KJ Hassett had 10.

University 72, North Central 57: Noah Martin had a monster game for the Titans (4-6, 4-4), finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds, as U-Hi held off the visiting Indians (0-10, 0-8). Josh Hager had 12 points and five assists for the Titans and Austin Dill had 14 points. Riley Smith led NC with 25 points.
