Firm chosen for city investigation would be paid up to $48,000

Under a proposed contract Spokane City Hall would pay up to $48,000 to investigate the aftermath of allegations that Mayor David Condon knew for months about sexual assault claims against former police Chief Frank Straub.

On Monday the city council will review the proposed contract between the city and Seabold Group Investigation Services of Seattle.

Kris Cappel, a principal in the Seattle investigation consulting firm and a former federal prosecutor, was chosen by Spokane Mayor David Condon and Council President Ben Stuckart to lead the investigation.
