Montana woman dies after car goes in lake near Coeur d’Alene Resort

A Montana woman died Wednesday morning after her car was found partially submerged at a boat launch near the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

The 72 year-old woman from Great Falls was pronounced dead at Kootenai Health, the Coeur d’Alene Police Department said.

Officers responded to the east side of the resort just after 6 a.m. for a report of an unconscious female. A resort employee was starting life-saving measures on the woman, and medics took her to the hospital.

The woman’s car was in the lake at the Third Street Boat Launch.

Police have not released her name, pending notification of next of kin. Coeur d’Alene Police detectives are investigating the incident.
