Four Corners: WSU faces Utah, Colorado at home

Coming up: Thursday vs. Utah, 8 p.m. (FOX Sports 1); Saturday vs. Colorado, 6 p.m. (Pac-12)

Outlook: The Arizona trip went poorly for the Cougars, mostly because of their frequent bouts of sluggish offense and surprising difficulty defending 3-pointers. A Utah team that has struggled to shoot from the outside this season may provide some respite for the Cougars, who are likely to try double-teaming star center Jakob Poeltl, in the same manner they defended Arizona’s big men. Against Colorado the Cougars should finally have a chance to stretch their legs a bit. WSU hasn’t played very fast this season, but teams have had success running against the Buffaloes, who aren’t very good at either forcing or preventing turnovers.

WSU leaders:

Scoring: Josh Hawkinson 16.8 ppg

Rebounding: Josh Hawkinson 11.2 rbg

Assists: Ike Iroegbu 4.1 apg
