Area roundup: WSU’s Alsop sets meet record in women’s triple jump
Washington State’s Greer Alsop set a meet record in the women’s triple jump Friday at the WSU Open Indoor meet in Pullman.
Alsop reached a distance of 40 feet, 8 3/4 inches. The previous record of 40-6 was set by WSU’s Sarah Burns in 2008.
Brock Eager led the Cougar men with a first-place finish in the weight throw. His mark of 63-2 3/4 was the seventh-best in school history.
Eastern Washington’s Kaytlyn Coleman won the women’s weight throw with a toss of 61-4 3/4.

Wrestling
Southwestern Oregon won six of 10 matches and beat North Idaho 31-14 in Coos Bay, Oregon.
North Idaho’s Isaac Aguilar (133 pounds), Deondre Wilson (141), Dajour Reece (165) and Damian Trujillo (285) won their matches for the Cardinals.
North Idaho wrestles at Clackamas (Oregon) on Saturday.
