Spokane Braves lose to Grand Forks Border Bruins

Paxton Malone and Austin Breen scored for the Spokane Braves in a 5-2 KIJHL loss to the Grand Forks Border Bruins on Sunday at Eagles Ice-A-Rena.

Malone also had an assist as did Mason Jones, Connor McIntosh and Kyle Donaldson.

Malone’s goal came in the second period to cut the Braves’ deficit to 2-1 but Austin Dean scored for Grand Forks (19-20-0-0-4, 42 points) with 1:17 left in the period.

Breen scored a power-play goal in the third period to get Spokane (5-34-0-0-4, 14) within 3-2 but but the Border Bruins added two more goals, including Trey Mason’s second of the game.
