Police are investigating a dead body found Friday morning outside Greenacres Middle School in Spokane Valley.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the school around 7:30 a.m. and found the body of a woman who appears to be in her late 40s or 50s, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Mark Gregory said.
The woman was found on the west side of the school in a grassy area near the sidewalk, Gregory said. She did not have any obvious injuries or signs of trauma, he said.
“It looks like she either sat down or laid down,” he said.
The Spokane County medical examiner is heading to the school to investigate. Gregory said the school is operating on a normal schedule.
