Nicholas Knapton, P.S. has hired Seth DeNardi as a staff accountant. He was previously with Itron, Inc. In addition, the firm has promoted Dakota Felland from staff B accountant to staff A accountant and Rachael Carlisle from staff accountant to staff B accountant.

Hanna & Associates has hired Zane Anderson as an art director, Meghan Alexander as an account service and media coordinator and Danika Pariseau as an interactive art director. Anderson has previous experience as an art director, Alexander was a senior media buyer and Pariseau worked as a graphic designer. The new hires are working on two multi-media ad campaigns for Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.
Design
Zak Designs has hired Stacy “Scotty” Shanks as a project manager in the international contract manufacturing department. Shanks has six years of experience in product design and development at Target Corporation Headquarters in Minneapolis.
Engineering
DCI Engineers has hired Alex Lakocy and Brian Parsons as project engineers in the Spokane office. Lakocy is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineers. His current project is the Hunter’s Point Shipyard project in San Francisco, California. Parsons was previously with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Ocean Engineering for four years. He is currently working on the Cenex ZipTrip project in Miles City, Montana and the North Central Phase II project in Spokane.
Finance
RBC Wealth Management has named financial advisor Kyle Weir as a senior vice president. The honorary title was given in recognition of Weir’s significant contributions to the firm’s success.
Government
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has named Eric Lutz as director of it’s the Spokane Mining Research Division, which is part of the NIOSH Office of Mine Safety and Health Research. Lutz previously served as an assistant professor in the division of Community, Environment, and Policy at the Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona (UA) in Tucson. He also served as the director of Mining Health and Safety Programs at UA.
Greater Spokane Incorporated has named Erik Poulsen as a public policy director and Lisa Bridston as an events director. Poulsen previously served as the government relations director for the Washington Public Utility Districts Association. Bridston has extensive experience in events and program development.
Hospitality
The Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn has been named a recipient of the Best Western Director’s Award in recognition of the hotel’s superior achievement in quality standards. The hotel scored in the top 20 percent of the 2,100 Best Western hotels nationwide in the areas of cleanliness and maintenance.
Law
Witherspoon-Kelley has named Samuel C. Thilo and William O. Etter as partners and shareholders. Thilo’s practice focuses on civil litigation and corporate legal matters. Etter is a tax attorney whose practice focuses on transactional corporate, estate planning and probate law. Thilo and Etter both joined the firm in 2010.

Members of the Spokane Association of Realtors recently raised and donated $4,081.94 to support the Spokane Neighborhood Action Program.
