Boy hospitalized after falling onto rocks at Tubbs Hill

A young boy camping at Tubbs Hill was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after he slipped and fell onto rocks above the water of Lake Coeur d’Alene.

First responders loaded the boy onto a boat and then into an ambulance. He was reportedly being treated for traumatic injuries at Kootenai Health. His parents have been notified, according to the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department.

The fire department said the boy was not attempting to jump into the water when he fell, but officials urged visitors not to jump near the rocks.
