Spokane’s Corey Prugh posted a stellar back nine of 31 en route to a 66, taking the first-round lead at the 53rd annual Lilac City Invitational at the Fairways Golf Course.
Only eight players shot under the course par of 72, all from the group of 23 professionals competing. Kevin PomArleau, Shane Prante and Zachary Bixler all shot 67s.
Braden McKay of Roffland, British Columbia, and Kevin Burnett of Seattle lead the amateur groups with scores of 72.
Play continues Friday through Sunday this week, and is open to spectators.
