Theft disheartening
In reference to a letter from Deborah Davis (“Vandalism, theft disheartening,” June 28), we have both been invaded. You lost a treasured rosary, and I lost all the decorations from my dear wife’s grave.
My wife of nearly 59 years passed away from Alzheimer’s a few month ago and was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in the Valley. Shortly after Memorial Day, two butterflies and a cardinal with wings that waved in the wind, two potted flower plants, a nice bowl of flowers, an American flag, a large solar lit sunflower that glowed all night and a two foot Madonna statue were stolen from her gravesite.
I understand everything taken had a resale value, but what kind of person would steal a Madonna from a lady’s grave? The thieves also took many other potted flowers from others. I found it in myself to forgive whoever did this and have replaced all. Maybe they needed it more than me or my dear deceased wife. I know that would be the wish of my dear departed wife.
