Man seriously injured after hitting cement truck
A man was seriously injured after he hit a cement truck head on Saturday morning on Highway 395 in Stevens County.
Timothy J. Clark, 59, was driving his 2001 Chevy pickup south on Highway 395 about 11 miles north of the Spokane County line when he crossed the center line and hit the northbound cement truck, according to the Washington State Patrol. Clark, a resident of Clayton, was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center by a Life Flight helicopter.
Clark’s truck was heavily damaged and it took 30 minutes to extricate him from the wreck, according to Stevens County Fire District 1.
The driver of the cement truck, identified as 46-year-old John M. Goodman of Colville, was also injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance. Both men were wearing their seat belts, WSP said.
The crash is under investigation.
