DUI? Revoke license

I’m disturbed and confused. What’s going on here? With the deaths and injuries associated with drunk driving, why are our judges plea bargaining drunken-driving charges?

Read the Washington Records section of the paper as I have over the past several months and you’ll notice a pattern. If these people know they can plea bargain the “driving while intoxicated” charge down to “negligent driving” or “reckless driving,” what motivation do they have to stop drinking while driving? How many more law-abiding citizens are going to be injured or killed by these drivers before they’re taken off the street?

Having their license revoked on the first drunken-driving charge would be a strong motivator. Enough of this nonsense. Please?
