2 injured in electrical fire at Boise State University

Associated Press

BOISE – Officials say a small electrical fire at Boise State University has injured two people who were working on an elevator shaft in the university’s science building.

The Boise Fire Department reported that the two workers were hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening after the Monday incident.

BSU spokeswoman Kathleen Tuck said the fire started when a transformer blew and caused ventilation problems in the science and education buildings, which are connected.

Both buildings have been closed.

Tuck said the school is working to reschedule classes affected by the closure.
