Sat., July 23, 2016
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Fernando Alvarez, who spent most of the season on defense, posted a hat trick on Saturday as the Spokane Shadow kept the Vancouver Victory from clinching the Evergreen Premier League title with a 3-2 win at Harmony Soccer Complex.
The Victory (9-1-2) tied the match at 2 when Christo Michaelson scored at 72 minutes, but Alvarez responded 3 minutes later with the winner.
The third-place Shadow (7-4-1) will play at Wenatchee on Sunday and close the season at home against South Sound on Saturday.
