Lake City schedules more public art
The city of Coeur d’Alene already has circulated two “calls for artists” for public art projects in the ignite cda River District, one piece to be located near Riverstone Park and the other to be a mural to be placed under the Seltice Way overpass, along the Riverstone section of the Prairie Trail. The subject surfaced at the ignite cda meeting last week when Commissioner Dave Patzer asked whether public art efforts are planned for the River District. Apparently, there is no lighting planned for the mural at night, according to Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor (from minutes of meeting). Responding to a question, Taylor said the city hasn’t had problems re: vandalism to art in remote parts of the community.
