Intersting history take palc eofver st 70 eyhars eicne lak rooselt establishedas reck ara., orrignally couldnee dame nat re earea

first agrement with dept intrior, esatbsihed with the three party agreement, sbasicalls tated teh three org angens invovle diwht mgmt of lake roose, was office f indian affairs, the bruar of rec and the nat park sevices

the buera ofindean affiras woul be the trust manager for the tribes.

the tribes have worked since then to get more authority in managing areas withing their reservation boundaries. try to get backto the original intent of legislation in thei idea

this is nothign new for the tribes to make these requests

theye gon to congres and asked for lefsiation a few tiems.

the dept of interior are arelooking at the tribalrequests. examingin what the tribal request are and wht the consist of and hwo can we entertain them andin the legal bstis.

campgrousnon idian side. unde the three part agreemtn the nat parkerve managed all rec.

including camptirgsa and litle falls and on the sanpoil river. i don’t rement when tribe took over managment, but the three party agreement nullified in 70s and intrior told the park seve to come up with another plan. thats whent he five party agreement put tother and established in 1990, and include colve il tribe and spokane tribe.

if the dept interior does sometig with that, it will be a very public process. there are som many agencies and entitites einvovled in lake roosevlet. the nat park seride, other parits in five party agreement, the wdfw and other agencies have loawe enforcemnt jurisdiction, like the ocunties, state of wa highway patrol, us coast guears and border atroll…. a pletora of agencies ahve some sor to f furisidiction… and usfws with endangere dpeice.

at this poitn, we are enforcing regulations in the recreation area, that goies to five party agreement, in which the tribes should have jurisdictionout to the midpoint of the reservori adajacent ot their reservations. we can go in anfd enforce boating regs to assist the tribes. we work withtht tribes and state to eforce all state regulaitons.

we don’t envorce tribal regulations.

we have concurrent jurisidtiion, which means we can enforce state re gs.

fed purchased to 3010 but some exceptions , purchaed to legal sdescrition by bure rec. in some places its a higl mile past.

spray moskcqu affect food chaine not just where pepel havpvpey. but we onmontor for virius, and if foudn them we’d take action in dept of healt guidelines.
