Driver, passenger injured in suspected DUI collision

From staff reports

A man suspected of driving drunk and his passenger were injured in a one-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon north of Deer Park.

Randy S. Sandven, 30, of Spokane, was driving south on U.S. Highway 395 when his Jeep left the road, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release. He overcorrected and left the roadway, hitting a tree.

Sandven and his passenger, 30-year-old Galadriel K. Strickland, of Deer Park, were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, the release said.
