West siders who want to attend the 2016 Apple Cup in Pullman will have rise early after their Thanksgiving-induced comas to make the game, which will kick off at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

Those who stay home to watch surrounded by family and leftovers can watch on either FOX or FS1, with the final network selection to be announced in the week before the game.

The 2016 game will mark the fourth time in five years the Apple Cup has been played the day after Thanksgiving, a concession to television demands that the Cougars were originally thought to receive at least a two-year break from following the 2013 season. However, the 2014 Saturday Apple Cup was the rivalry’s only respite from the tough scheduling demands of playing a cross-state game so soon after the holiday.

On Wednesday, the Pac-12 also announced the kickoff times and TV selections for another pair of WSU home games. The Sept. 3 opener against Eastern Washington will start at 5 p.m. and be televised by the Pac-12 Network. WSU also announced that the game will have a theme, that being the classic fighter pilot movie Top Gun, which means free sunglasses for the first 10,000 fans.

The Pac-12 Network will also televise WSU’s Week 3 home game against Idaho, to be played at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. During that game WSU will induct this year’s Washington State Athletic Hall of Fame class.
