Driver seriously injured in crash on Day Mt. Spokane Road

A man was seriously injured in a crash at Day Mt. Spokane Road and Lowe Road Thursday afternoon and the driver who allegedly caused it could be facing criminal charges.

Witnesses said a red truck was going north on Lowe Road around 4:15 p.m. and didn’t stop at a stop sign. The truck hit a Honda Accord going west on Day Mt. Spokane Road, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the Honda was seriously injured and taken to the hospital by air ambulance. He was listed in stable condition Friday morning.

Deputies believe the driver of the red truck was impaired, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The driver’s blood is being tested and he could face a charge of vehicular assault. His name has not been released.
